over the past two years, through our rescue, we've lost 3 cockatiels and each one of them was special in its own way. Baby, who only lived two days despite our constant care. Skittles, a female brough to us with a split open chest that we fought through a month on medications, collars and surgical glue. We thought we finally had it licked when she went into a seizure and died within minutes. And finally Mary, a lovely grouch surrendered to us after 15 years in her home because the wife couldn't find a way to continue to care for her along with a new baby. She was with us for almost a year before she had a seizure and died at the emergency hospital. We have saved many more, but every loss is personal and heart rending.
