Thanks, that is a great idea to check on. I know the sound you are talking about....at least I think that is what you're talking about. The sound of them grabbing the feathers and also running their beaks down them? That isn't the sound I'm talking about. She does that too. This is a higher pitched wheeze even when she is preening - even just doing her very small neck feathers (when there wouldn't be a lot of feather grabbing sound). She doesn't do it every second she is preening, it is off & on. Also, now I have noticed that sometimes when she chews on her playpen she makes the sound occasionally. I had a cockatoo in the past, and cockatiels, and have been around other birds...so I'm pretty sure this isn't the feather grabbing/preening sound. Sigh.... I wish it was that easy! I just don't know if this means respiratory infection? There is no mucous, swelling, labored breathing, etc...nothing else!
