Depending on how acclimated your birds are to the outdoor temps should determine at what temps you offer that option.

All of my birds prefer cool showers, but then they also require a bright sunny window to sit in front of as they dry off. I've notice the occasional shiver (LOL).

Wild birds can be seen bathing in melted snow, but they are use to extreme temps. No so your garden variety pet macaw. I would assume that temps would have to be AT LEAST 65 to allow them to stay outside post shower.

However, if you keep you bird inside at a comfortable 70 degrees, then bring them in right away to dry out.
