Hello kala83 and welcome to the board!
I'm pretty new with birds myself but I've been wanting some for years. I've had my two cockatiels for about a month and my green cheeked conure for about a week.
What part of Japan are you planning to go? My da was in the Air Force (now retired) and we lived on Misawa AFB for several years and traveled quiet a bit.
Teaching English to Japanesse students? or are you going to teach in an American school their?
Should you decide to get a fid would absolutly love to hear about it! There is tons of info and so many people here are so helpful if you have any questions about your future fid.
