yea, before i bought my poi pairs, i heard horrible things about their personalities. i had even seen a clutch of meyers that didnt wanna be handled and they were so fearful. but i thought they were really cute and i wanted to try to breed them myself. so, i bought my first pair. they settled right in and gave me babies after a month of being at my house. i fell in love right away cause their babies are so cute and they have some of the best personalities!! so i bought another pair of meyers. they try to have babies, but for some reason, their eggs have been clear so far :( my friend finally decided to sell her pied pair of meyers, and of course i snatched them up, i got them about 2-3 months ago. they have laid fertile eggs but they dont sit very tight, so we havent gotten babies yet. they were mating again last week so hopefully we can get another clutch :) about 4-5 months ago, i finally got her to sell me her only pair of red bellies. they havent bred for me yet, but their breeding season is coming up, so lets hope for the best :) i just brought home a second pair of red bellies this past week too. my friend always had babies though, i used to go over and play with them, they are just like meyers. i plan on holding back some of the babies, especially any pied meyers that we get. i really wanna build up my breeding stock of meyers and red bellies. ever since that very first clutch of meyers that we had, i just fell in love, and im very picky about the birds that i like and breed. everyone that has bought one of them has said nothign but good things about our babies :) i even get to visit a few of them, and they are still very sweet to everyone they meet, they are all in homes that have children too, they love kids.
