Just wanted to say "hello" to everyone! I'm a newbie to this message board and proud to say, a new bird owner. A 7 yr old double-yellow headed amazon named Fred. I've been handling a Moluccan and another Amazon for the past year. They belong to friend of mine. I decided it was time for my own.
I adopted Fred from a Rescue. His previous owner died suddenly & was "willed" to a relative which left him caged, covered & ignored. Needless to say, he was very depressed.
He's been doing well & bonding with me & my family. He has not started talking again but is learning his "step up". If anybody has any advice to help Fred along, please feel free to pass along.
