Both Iris and Clover were vaccinated against the Polyomavirus by their breeder's prior to me bringing them home. I was told by Iris's breeder (in his opinion) a breeder that didn't vaccinate their birds against Polyoma didn't care enough and that he wouldn't ever fool with them. While keeping that in mind, I spoke with several breeders. The ones that stuck out the most to me and seemed to care or were the most decent were those who vaccinated their babies.

I was told to quarantine by several people but I knew that just wasn't going to work in my household. Both breeders advised me that I really didn't have to worry about it but that's exactly what I expected them to say. Although, I had to trust them a little to purchase from them, I still didn't want to take any chances or put either bird at risk.

Therefore, what I did was, I tested them both for everything prior to bringing the new one home. Both of them were clear of PBFD, Polyoma, Chlamydia, and Pacheco's so I took my chances. I did however, keep Clover (the new bird) away from all hosehold traffic and animals for the first few days just to make the new transaction easier on him. Day three he was out and about but still kept in/on seperate everything.

I clean and disenfect everything daily and individually anyways. I still have a habit of washing my hands inbetween birds.
