too hanging upside down
Hi Kim. I have had an approx 10 yr old E2 for a little over 4 months now. He does have some problems with biting and lunging at times but he is getting much better. I joined a parrot behavior group and they suggested that when he bites to put him in timeout for no more than aminute. The problem I think is that he knows when he is going to go and will start swinging upside down on my hand, crest up, flapping wings. It is happening more frequently and the other day he was being a good boy but started doing it immediately after stepping up. I'm unsure if mayeb he thought he was going to his cage or not which he absolutely hates. The thing that worries me is that if he is doing this because of the timeouts that the next thing is going to be him biting me. I have also been told that it sounds like play behavior but I'm wondering if this could be more of an avoidance behavior. Any thoughts would eb appreciated. Thank you Leah
