New and interesting Ducky behavior
I mentioned in a previous post how Ducky goes on top of the china cabinet but I have to put him there and he eventually figured out how to climb down when I'm not around but when he can see me, he expects me to get him down. Well, he's picked up, in the last few days, a new and funny thing regarding the china cabinet. He climbs up by himself but before going to the top, he goes inside the china cabinet and rearranges the wine glasses and makes these really cute noises while he's doing it. He'll stick his head out to look for me so I'll go over there and when I go to the china cabinet, he'll go back to rearranging and exploring and chattering saying things like "Hi Duck," and other cute things. Then when he's finished his rearranging, he'll climb on top of the cabinet and then even climb on top of this vase so he's really, really high and just sit there preening himself. He's so high that his head is a mere inch or so from the ceiling making it really hard to reach him. He simply loves it up there. In fact, last night he stayed up there most of the evening and I wanted him to eat something so I ended up taking him his mash and while on the step stool, I held him his bowl of food while he ate. When he was done, he pushed it away.
I know, it may be suggested that I could stop him from getting up there but I don't know that I want to do that. He really seems to enjoy being up there and it's not an issue for me to get him down when I want him down -- I just have to use a step stool and reach way up there and sternly say "step up" and he will reluctantly. I am thinking he may like it up there for a couple of reasons. Heat rises so it's nice an warm up there and second, it's high and he can see pretty much see me anywhere I am unless I head to the bedroom or bathroom. It hasn't made him aggressive or dominant and he doesn't poop up there.
Funny the new things they pick up to do ... LOL
