as long as you remain within the recommended temperature range (below 480F), i wouldn't see a problem. around this temp the material is loosing it's properties and starts to degrade and i'm not sure what comes off. another thing i would do is to bake it out at baking temps once before using it around the birds (side product during the synthesis depending on the precursors could be HCl in very very very small amounts).

just to clarify one thing - teflon coated cookware is also fine as long as it's used WITHIN the recommended temperature range! (however, i don't own any either)
