Where do I begin...

I'm an accountant with 28 years experience and for the last 10 years have been working in the reinsurance industry...God I'm getting old, I'm a 42 year old animal mom. Doing quarterly and year end closes at work have taken their toll on me. Normal working hrs are 9-5 M-F, during a close it's 8-11..sometimes 12 or 1, this goes on for three weeks straight.

Last year I got a gift from God, the company I work for had done a merger and decided to keep all employees in Kansas City and give everyone in NY packages. My last day was supposed to be 12/21/07. After several weeks of neg. the company agreed to pay me out on my package and hire me back as an consultant with a great hourly rate. I've also been approached at staying until the end of 2008 because of a migration issue they have. Nice to feel wanted :-)

My goal for this year is to not work as many hours as I have been and to spend more time with my hubby and fids. I also plan on applying for my 501c3 this month (Jan 08), and getting my bird rescue off the ground.

My husband is a trader and works many hours during the week so the fids are all mine :-)
