Have you thought about doing volunteer work? We have a lot of Canadian BBers and I am sure they could point you to some rescues who would love to have someone spend some time with their birds (and probably help clean the cages ). It is hard to be away from your pets and family, but time will pass more quickly than you can probably imagine; a good education is well worth the investment.
