I have to agree with Cindi. Please do not allow your dog and your bird to interact. One nick/nip from the dog can kill the bird because of the toxicity of dog/cat saliva (carries deadly bacteria). If such an event does occur, or even if there are no outward signs but you suspect something happened, you need to rush your bird to the vet and demand antibiotics. There is about a 2 hour window to give the bird a 50-50 chance. Otherwise, it will die. I know because it happened to me.
