Hello!
I've been a member of birdboard for quite some time, and been lurking the past few weeks. Decided I should finally come out of lurkdom and say hello!
My name is Molly, I'm 20-years-old and live in MN. I'm a student at the Univeristy of Minnesota, with two semesters left until I get my degree in Animal Science, pre-vet. I'm more interested in going into training and behavior than veterinary medicine though.
I'm owned by a 3-year-old female lutino cockatiel named Sweety. I got her 2 years ago when she was returned to the pet store where I worked because her owner was being evicted from his apartment and couldn't keep her. She was on a diet of wild bird seed, and only had plastic perches. Needless to say, she's pretty spoiled now!
I've loved birds for that past 6 years. I started volunteering with a local rescue group (
Untitled Document) when I was 15, and have worked at a local boarding clinic for parrots since I was 17. This past summer I interned with The Gabriel Foundation (
The Gabriel Foundation®) for 3 months, which was an amazing experience! It's nice to see so much support for TGF here, and to see pictures of all the birds I lived with for the summer!
I share an apartment with my best friend, Sweety, two cats and a rabbit. We're both animal science majors, so that explains our mini-zoo!
Anyways, that's me in a nutshell.
