Go to a large nursery or florist store and ask for bamboo. They usually have lots of different sizes, different lengths. However, bamboo is one thing that my lovebirds would tear up in minutes. Or you can use any large enough branch (of the good type of wood). But, that is a terrific display of patience and fortitude to make such a great playgym -- you are making it for a friend? Wow!
