What kind of bird do you have? if he/she is a big chewer than you should probably get a new cage, the best option to repaint is to powder coat, powder coating involves paint baked onto the metal and is extremely durable, any type of wet or spray on paint will chip and flake off if your bird chews on the bars. To succesfully powder coat you have to get the meatal fully prepped and stripped of all paint other wise the areas with the original paint will flake off. Best bet is to ge out the phone book or google and find your local powder coater, tell them what you have and how big it is and if it comes apart. and ask what they would charge to sandblast and paint. If teh cage comes apart than painting over teh contact areas may cause interfearence when tring to put it back together.
