I would visit the birds, andsee how they are with you. These are a lifelong commitment, and you want a good match for such a companion. It would all depend on the individual, and the bird. My wife bought a YCA that was 1-1/2 years old, and before we took him home, he was cuddling under her chin. I re-homed a BFA that was 8 or 9 and he took to me the moment we met. Breeders can be tricky, as you don't know how much interaction with people was done. You don't know if it had a significant other, and will be broken hearted at first. If you have not had experience with amazons, definately visit with the birds before taking one home.
