Wish I saw this thread sooner. I know I'm jumping onto this thread a bit late but just thought I should alert anyone interested in this question to another great bird-specific store in NY. Everyone knows "Parrots of the World" owned and run by Marc Morrone. But in Mineola on Jericho Turnpike is a store called "For Birds Only." I can't say enough good things about this place. It's literally family run. They too have a very large selection of birds, everything from macaws (all kinds) to budgies, and bird supplies. The couple that runs the store have been in buisiness there for, I believe, just over 25 years. They care a great deal about their birds and are very hands on with them. So, the birds are usually very approachable. They don't ship and are not as buisiness-oriented so they may not have a website. But, if youre close enough to get to Marc's place then you can also check this place out. They are not much further away. I also happen to live a few blocks from "For Birds Only."
