We brought home our 3 month old pineapple green cheek yesterday. She rode well in the car and settled in quickly to her new cage. The breeder warned us that she may be a bit wary of us until she gets used to us, but she was happy to go to everyone (roughly 7 people) and even let some of us pet her and give her neck scritches which about put her to sleep. We have several musicians in the family and she seemed to enjoy the blues jam session my husband and son had right near her cage. Here I was thinking the noise would freak her out but she was clearly interested. She approaches the bars of the cage if we come to talk to her and steps up easily and willingly although when you go to get her out of the cage she initially shys away. We're still trying on names....Clementine, Mimi, Evelyn and Peaches are all in the running. She likes to be sung to and listens intently when I sing "Oh my darling Clementine" to her LOL
I'm including a picture of her sitting on my daughter's hand. She was really interested in that shiny black nailpolish! Photos don't seem to do her color justice. They are so subtle and muted - just beautiful. Anyway, I imagine I'll be full of questions and I'm glad you guys are here
