Two Cockatiels Need a Loving Home

Hi Everyone--

I have two female Cockatiels, ages 13 (Lutino named Freesia) and 12 (Cinnamon named Sierra), that I need to find a loving home for. They do bicker with each other on occasion, but they have bonded and must not be separated. These birds do better in an active home environment with lots of activity; otherwise, Freesia feather picks.

My friend has cared for these birds in her home for the past 7 years and in that time they've been happy and are quite comfortable with the family German Shepherd. They eat "people" food and Harrison's pellets. Their home is a 6-ft King's cage with horizontal bars...quite roomy for them. Freesia and Sierra are loving little creatures.

Last year my friend and I found what appeared to be a good home from talking to the owner about his love of birds, but when we got there, there were so many animals and birds in such dirty, overcrowded conditions, that we left very quickly. Needless to say, their health and quality of life are extremely important to us.

I live in NJ. Any advice on rehoming these little birds would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
