Just going on recent reports of bird fairs in the USA, I was shocked that so many unweaned babies are offered for sale to the public. That is not allowed here in Australia. I do see unweaned babies being sold or swapped between breeders at bird club meetings, but this would be from one experienced breeder to another, certainly not just anyone off the street. What I would really like to see in the States is something similar-it should be illegal to sell unweaned baby birds to the public and there should be some kind of qualification to be allowed to buy an unweaned baby like doing a course with an avian vet or experienced breeder.
