Cage size for YN amazon
In my search for a new bird I have come across an amazon. I never really thought I would go for an amazon because I have read how loud they can be but this bird is really sweet and doesn't scream (I was told and I know that could change once he's here). I also know they can get hormonal and agressive during breeding season and that's ok too. He is a 4 year old yellow naped and the woman who has them has an amazon of her own (this was her daughter's bird) and while he is a little more than I was planning on spending right now, he is a reasonable price and she said she would be willing to let me make payments.
My question is what is the minimum cage size for a yellow naped? He is in a borrowed cage right now that she said is too small for him so I would need to get a cage. He would be out of the cage for almost the whole day but on occasion have to stay in there for a few hours. I know the largest possible is best but since I don't even know what the minimum size is I don't really have a place to start. Everything I have read has been around 24x24x36 but that seems really small to me. Any help is appreciated! And anything else anyone can think of for me to think about or look out for would be great! While I have had experience with larger parrots, this would be my first time owning one...
