My parakeet won't stop laying eggs!
As of last night she has layed 6 eggs and one that was about 1/3 the size of the rest.
Munchers will be 3 years old this August and this is the first breeding season she has ever done this (laid eggs).
In September I added a male budgie to the flock (I think this initiated her to start laying) but they are in seperate cages and the only one she has eyes for is me...ummm, I know this because anytime I talk to her or take her out of her cage this is what I get for the first few minutes...
I just worry because twice now I've been able to catch her in the act and it just looks so painful! I'm trying to supplement her diet right now as well because I can only imagine it's taking a toll on my baby girl to lay so many eggs.
So my question is this, how long is this going to last?! I've also read that if you put a marble in their cage they will stop laying
, but the one time I left an egg in there for a day all she did was sit on it.
I just want my lil girl to be back to normal!
