Thanks Huntress for the info. I'll watch for signs of molting. I like the idea of letting a bird at least learn how to fly, bank a turn etc...so that if she ever got away she might be more able to navigate her way back. We have a lot of kids though (translate that open doors all the time) so we'd need to consider the safety of letting her stay unclipped.
