One thing that my birds have always enjoyed (besides their fresh foods) is a plant that is sprouting, or seeding as it doesn't have any flowers, instead it seeds... I took quite a bit of food that was left over from my birds and spread it out on our side yard as it was all dirt... The wild birds feasted on some of the leftover seed, however, it was meant to grow... Within an aprroximate area of 8' x 8', I've had mostly white millet growing, and it's starting to go to seed now, if you know what I mean... There are a couple sunflower plants, and a couple other plants that I don't quite recognize, though it might be from their seeds too...

Here is an image of what they look like when they are starting to seed... I remove the leaves from around the seed stalk, and hang it in the birds cage. They really enjoy eating this as well! I find this as a better treat than the dried up spray millet sold in stores...

There have been a few plants that have these white flowers, and I'm suspecting that it came from the seed mix as they are not sprouting anywhere else in our yard, and well, I'm not sure what they are as of yet...
Same goes for this spiky like little plant that the flower is covered in what seems to be cotton around and in the plant (the part that protects the flower)... These pics were taken a few days ago, however, the plant right above hasn't flowered yet, nor have any of the others like it.
I'm hoping that no one decides to mow the plants down because the birds really enjoy this treat when it seeds!
