Don't beat yourself up about Snowwhite's accident. When my tiel was clipped when she came home, she could EASILY fly into the next room when spooked (that's when she was most determined, when spooked). A proper clip should not stop them from flying, only from gaining height. Therefore I would think that it's very possible for a clipped bird to have the same result as Snowwhite had (it's also NOT your fault). Smaller birds can easily fly even when clipped. If they can't fly at all when clipped, then the clip is too extreme and then you risk them falling and breaking the keel bone or beak, also not a desirable outcome. In my opinion, there is risk of SOMETHING no matter what we choose to do.
