I have a cat who enjoys eating peas, greenbeans, and other foods! Cabbage, too, at one point... although he doesn't like bathes!

Usually getting swatted by the cat, and getting a firm "NO" or similar command to the dog usually helps! We fostered an akita and her 3 pups (6-8 weeks at least when we got them). The dog we had at the time (chow/lab/shep?) had already learned his lesson to leave the cats alone! Well, the akita wasn't so sure about it and would chase them! The cats have to get used to the dogs first before they get brave enough to turn sides... When we still had the chow mix, I think the last time he picked on the cats was in the middle of the night when he got backed up into the corner by Squirt and Squirt attacked him.... don't know what happened, other than it sounded like there was some crazy wild animal inside the house! And the screams sounding so weird and off you wouldn't have been able to place them ANYWHERE, let alone from a dog!

Squirt bottles helped to get the dogs attention away from the cats.... the pups were curious but were young enough to, for the most part, leave the cats alone.... the akita learned to ignore the cats and later was adopted into a home that had one small breed dog (terrir mix?), a rabbit, and later, two kittens! No problems whatsoever with the other animals! We only have one dog now, which is one of the pups. He's about 3 years old now, and leaves the cats well alone! The cats are brother/sister, Squirt the male, Sprite the female. Squirt is just EVIL to that dog! If Squirt is laying on a chair and Kodi walks by, Squirt will reach out and swat the dog, or just paw him... with claws extended... if the dog is just standing there or laying, the cat will walk up to him, sniff him, sniff his snouth, sniff his ears, maybe swat him, then walk off. Or worse, the dog is just lying there and the cat decides to lye down RIGHT in front of the dog! He can only take it so long before he gets up and moves! However, I think Kodi takes his revenge on chasing the neighborhood cats.... lest the cats decide to not run, of course! He doesn't like a cat that doesn't run!
