Home Alone -- question about overnight travel
I need to be out of town for one night.
My situation is this:
One 30 year old Timneh Grey (yeah, that is old for a Timneh)
Two 10 year old cockatiels, the hen is laying infertile eggs again.
One 3 year old totally spoiled U2 who, thus far, is not psychotic.
I am afraid to board them for the reasons of the age of the elder birds and the emotional stability of the U2. There are no bird sitters in my area and if there were, my birds would probably bite the crap out of that poor person. The Grey actually growls like a dog at strangers.
If I were to leave them with plenty of food and water for a total of 30 hours at the most, would that be taking too much of a risk? My rationale is that if I boarded them, they would be alone for at least 12 hours anyway and if anything happened, there would be no one around to know it or do anything about it.
Your thoughts and advice is appreciated in advance.
