Hi everyone
My name is Jessica. I'm 26 from Boston, and I just rescued a Blue capped conure. My house is a zoo with around 20 pythons, a rat colony (feeders and pets), a dog, cat, fish, frogs and a turtle.
About my bird:
I had intended to rehome my friend right away but he's growing on me - he's really a fascinating creature and i'm just here trying to learn more about him. He's a bit scruffy looking as he plucked himself nearly bald a while back, but the feathers are growing back nicely and he has enough that he looks nearly normal and is able to fly. I'm not sure if he's actually male either, but I'm calling him Oz and using the male pronoun to refer to him, haha. I just bought him a ton of new toys and treats and am working on trust issues with him now. He doesn't like to step up in his cage or off my shoulder, but he might do it if he's on the floor because he landed there. As far as i know he doesn't mimic any human words but i still repeat things for him just in case he wants to.
So this looks like a pretty good board so far - full of nice people and good information. I look forward to talking with you folks.
