We had ducks, we had indian runner ducks and another duck (not sure what she was, fat duck? lol). They're so cute! They do big poo's but if you hose them into the ground the grass grows back so green and thick, excellent fertilizer.

We made a duck pond out of a plastic sand pit case. dug it into the ground, they loved it. They're very cute. It was great just to watch them but when you would bring tomato (their favourites) they would race down the yard and you could hand feed them, i taught one to jump for their food.

They also layed eggs which are excellent for baking cakes and stuff (bit rich to eat by itself). The only downside is they would quack loudly in the morning when they layed their egg and when they wanted to get fed but other than that they're awesome pets! I looked after 10 muscovy ducklings at one stage and they were so cute, they thought I was their mum and would follow me everywhere. So the younger you get them the better..if someone can wean it (i don't know if ducks wean? i guess they do?) they would probably be used to people then and maybe you could walk it on a harness.
