I had mono when I was 10, I think it was from a water fountain maybe. I remeber that it wasn't fun, kept me sick for quite a while.

I have no idea if that could be caught by your fids. I don't think you'd really find a lot of info on that subject. I'd try asking your vet to see what they thought, ask the doctor maybe...even though the chances of them knowing is slim to none. Good luck with it, and let us know what you find out on it being contagious to birds.
