Smile Nonstick cookware

I know that it is bad to cook with teflon cookware with birds in the house. I was watching QVC, , and saw this new type of cookware. I am not sure what causes teflon to be harmful but this cookware states: SandFlow contains no PTFEs or PFOAs--the components that make up most nonstick pans--while still allowing for easy food release. Are the PTFEs and PFOAs what are harmful? Or is it something else? Here is the link for this cookware: http://www.qvc.com/qic/qvcapp.aspx/view.2/app.detail

I'd like to know because I don't like cooking with much butter in my pans. And still want to keep my DYH Amazon very safe.

Thanks
