We're buying a house and getting married. . . our registry is all Stainless products with no coating, no teflon or calphalon or anything. All products are bird friendly.
I don't think we ever found a safe rice cooker, though.
If it's a new construction, watch new carpets and new flooring. If you can smell it, it's not safe for birdy yet. Airing out the house for several days will clear it up.
