best place for my Grey,Simon?

Hi,have a ? re: my grey,I have a bonus/bird room,my tiels are free flighted day/nite they have aflight cage that they eat, play in and on,I also have a nanday that is out with them in the day,all get along well,my ? is this ,Simon can only be out when I am right there, as I know not to have him unattended esp with the newly fledged tiels, they are less"aware" of him the adults seem to know ,and steer clear when he is out,He could be out if I move him to my office,I would have time with all of them, would he be lonely without the others? I know they don't flock with other types,or would he be more content to be out more,he is 17 mos old, bonding well with me I want to do what is best for him but unsure as to what "best" is, he is annoyed when they land on his cage and will snap at them.any help would be appreciated

I'm not an "expert" but here is my two cents.

I think it is perfectly fine to remove him from the bird room to spend some quality time with you away from the little guys.

If you mean moving his cage and living space to your office, you might consider it as a safety issue. I'd be very worried about having birds of such dramatically different size interacting freely in a room - supervised or not. Even if he is in his cage, he could still manage to snag a foot of one of your tiels when it perches on his cage and could cause serious damage.

I don't see an issue if their cages were near one another for sociability but if the tiels are freely flying around during the day I would move him elsewhere for their safety.

You could try it and see how he reacts, if he seems to miss them or act lonely. I think as long as you spend enough time playing, interacting and socializing with him, that he'll be fine without his feathered friends in the immediate area just make sure he has enough you time, toys and fun activities to keep his brain occupied so he doesnt become bored and lonely.

Someone please correct me if any of this is wrong XD
