Hello to all,
has anybody ever seen such a skin rash: and any ideas about the diagnosis and therapy? Or links to pages where such a rash is described? In a German message-board we got this question and pictures from a new member, which is so hopelessly and helpless, as even several vets couldn't help this bird. To see or read (in German) the complete file, please klick here . Thanks in advance |

hello. looks like the bird has scabs from picking at his skin.
My vet gave me Silvadene cream to help with my greys healing, but a collar was also needed as not to pick at it again. that would be prescribed by a vet after a skin culture. You can also try aloe from an aloe plant, if that has not been done. Please consult with a vet first as you dont want to make it worse. I also have a vet who does consultations if the vet in Germany would like some help with it.

here is a pic of my guy as his feathers started to grow back in. Where my thumb is you can see some of the scabbing(tho very little bit)
He scabbed up the rear end of himself.
