A little oil?

Hey everyone, I have my African Grey with me a lot, and today I was outside cutting the grass, and I had him on his leash, and put him outside. I openned up the motor and looked at it to make sure everything was OK, and closed it back up, mowed the lawn, and put everything away, and grabbed my bird and pet him on his head. I didn't realize it but I guess there's a little bit of oil on his head! I don't know how to clean it off without bothering him. It's in a spot where he can't clean it, right over his head. It's not a big blotch, I'll add a shot of his head.

Should I worry about it? How should I clean it? Will it naturally go away? He allows me to pet his head, and infact, LOVES it, so ... I'm not sure. What should I do :$.

Kent.

You could try using some Dawn dish soap... can't think of anything else right now that wouldn't bother the bird.

just a little dawn and water and some rubbin on his head should do ok. they use it for wildlife that has been caught in oil slicks. Just be careful not to get it in his eye, ears, nose or mouth.....
use a washcloth. That should help him out.

Thanks. I tried it, and it got rid of some of it, I guess i'll have to do it again later on today. I don't want to bug him a lot. Since I don't see it bothering him, I"ll do it little by little. Yesterday I did it for the first time, and he didn't seem to be keen on having soapy water in a cloth being rubbed. He's strange. He doesn't like showers, but he loves being blow dried. lol. hehe. But he'll do anything for a pretzel stick!!!
