My 10 yr old African Grey (nodie) has a wet tongue... 2 days ago I took my other African Grey(cheech) to a emergency vet, because my vet is on vacation and I could not find anyone else to take him. His left eye was shutting and he had bubbly discharge from his nose. The vet said that his breathing, heart etc was fine and he believes it might be a respitory infection. Gave me Baytril to give him for a week. I noticed that Nodie my other parrot started getting the same symptoms and I called him. He said I could give him some of Cheech's baytril and treat him. So I have for the last day. Now I notice Nodi has a wet tongue all the time. This is all so stressful! Could someone please help me out here..? What would cause a wet tongue?

I am so sorry you are going through this. Most emergency vets are not avian certified. You really need to take him to an avain vet.. Baytril is a broad spectrum antibiotic NOT commonly used for respitory infections, Doxycycline which is an antifungal is normally one of the drugs used for this.
