all birds can be nippy and yell at times ...not all grey talk but they imitate things to try to get your attention when they want it, ..

Yes as tobysmom said they all can nip and or bite all birds do this. Yelling at times when playing and when calling you. Grey's are not the loudest parrot by far but can be heard by the neighbors at times.

Bing is not at all nippy. I can think of only one time when I would say I received what could be loosely called a bite but he's young yet. I know someday it is bound to happen but he is very gentle that way.

On the other hand he is loud; louder than I expected. He could wake the dead. It's not an all day thing. It is guaranteed to happen early in the morning and also happens when he is excited to see me and he is not getting the attention he wants. It's nice to be loved but I am really hoping that as he learns to talk (he's working on it) he will replace screaming with words. To help facilitate this I ignore screaming and give a big reaction to talking or cute sounds that are far more pleasing to the ear.

I love the guy and wouldn't trade him for the world. I hope it all works out for you.

Goose always gets wound up at about 4 or 5 and gets loud for about an hour but sometimes hes too quiet so I have to get him started to make sure nothing is wrong, Goose isn't nippy towards me but if my boyfriend is home he wants nothing to do with him and bites him and still will not let him rub is head.
