Unhappy Will my african grey get over his scare?

Hi, i have had my african grey Charlie, for a year and a half now, he only really bonded with me and bites anyone else who trys to stroke him.
he always used to get on my arm and sit with me for ages and let my stroke him while he was in his cage.
Ever since the other day i carried a desk past his cage, which gave him a fright he wont come near me, when i go to get him out he panics and runs to the other side of the cage making scared noises. He doesnt bite me though or get aggressive like he does with everyone else.
It upsets me seeing him distressed
Will he get over his scare in time? what do i need to do?
Thanks.

the parrots r usually habituated to 1 person . that need time , my grey wants 2 days to get habituated to new things in his cage.
