Just a quick question.

Is it safe to keep parrots/african greys in your bedroom?
I have medium sized room, there is hardly no room down stairs
but I think I can make room for the cage, we are expecting an adorable
african grey very soon

The cage will be in my bedroom and the playstand will be downstairs where all the action will be, the bird will sleep in the same room with me, I spend most of the day in my room, on the computer, reading a book, someone told me though its dangerous to sleep with fids because they take up too much oxygen?

I know a lot of people that keep their fids in their room.

I personally don't because my hubby snores. I can't stand him when he snores...I can't imagine having a bird that sounds just like that!

You mean 100% of the time?

Only if you are in there a good 6-8 hours a day with him! LOL

If you mean for sleeping... then that would work great. But they need to be able to interact where the family is as much as possible. Yet... they do not like major action constantly going on about them.

Lisa is sure to help you more... but will need more info. How much time will he be spending in your bedroom? In the cage? Will you have playstands and such he will be "visiting"?

Pretend he is a slightly autistic three year old human child and you will have most of your answers.

You can also keep his cage in your bedroom, but then have a playstand in the living area during the day when you are home for him to stay on!

If they take up oxygen... I is in trouble! My townhouse would be a vacuum. LOL

This counts as the strangest thing I have heard this week.

No... they LIKE to sleep with the flock. You will be fine!

nope absolutely not. the danger if any comes from people with respiratory problems and the dust they give off. a hepa filter would be good, just make sure its not drafty on his sleeping spot. also note ANY and ALL nightime noises will be repeated at the most inappropriate times...keep that in mind
