hi Tammy. I never had one shipped, tho I was considering it at one time with a disabled baby.
Where are you located? (pm Me)
maybe we can find one in your area?

I have had rescue birds flown to me counter to counter and have flown with my own birds when I moved. Everyone seems to have gotten through with no ill effects.

as long as you either have them shipped during a mild part of the year or with a carrier that has climate controlled cargo they should be fine

I had Pickle shipped to me from FL via Delta. An experienced, reputable breeder know how to arrange for proper shipping and it should go smoothly. If you can, go for a direct flight and/or opt to have the bird shipped during the week.

Definitely consider searching for parrots in your area, though. While I don't feel that travel by air is terribly traumatic, it's always nice to get to see your baby before you bring it home. It's not always an option but definitely something to consider. Lisa and others here have tremendous resources and lots of contacts with rescues and breeders alike :)

Best of luck,
