Be Quiet !!

I have had my CAG for 6 months now and he has always been a fairly quiet bird. He has his afternoons where he will hang undside down and do his screeching thing which is fine with me. I let him out his cage for approx 6 hours a day and have never had a problem when he has to go back inside. Lately he has started the most irritating chirping and yelling when he is back inside. This can go on for hours and drives me mad. How do I get him to stop this? Am I correct in covering his cage for a short period when he starts this racket or do I just grin and bear it and hope he realises that he doesn't get attention when he is chirping and yelling.

I'm printing it too. My guys can go on endlessly. And they aren't locked in their cages. They just think it is the thing to do or are calling me. I wouldn't mind if there weren't three other priests in this rectory that have to listen to it too.

Can't argue with anything in that article -- good points all. Just for variety, here are some others as well:

Easily fixed!

Take up playing the bagpipes. Badly. Practice for a few weeks. In the hallway (cause it is cold outside!).

They will think NOTHING of yer birds when you tell them (with crestfallen face) you have decided the bagpipes may not be your calling after all.
