Toy aggression

Does anyone else have birds that are very aggressive with their toys? Indy is crazy when ever I try to put a toy with a bell on it. He grabs it and gets crazy attacking the bell. I am actually a bit scared to just try to get the toy hung as bad as he gets. I am on the fence about getting him toys with bells. On one hand I don't want to encourage aggression, but at the same time it may be an outlet to aggression he already has. I have never had a bird that violent before

Bogey (YCA) has one of those stainless steel tube bells that he goes nuts over. He's a fairly timid bird so interesting to see him getting so agro with the bell.

Pip (one of the lorikeets) has a seek and kill type attitude towards all toys. Generally hear him smashing around and screaming hysterically at them. Mind you this is the same bird who would lie on his back and yell at his feet.

My grey really doesn't seem to get too fussed with any of his toys. Just happy to push buttons, chew and hang.

My 'tiels get really aggressive with some of their toys, a bell and ring toy especially. They beat them up and scream at the top of their lungs. I think it's hilarious! I think it's just something they have to get out of their systems. But it's funny to see them get soooo mad!!!

Mister Nibbles, my budgie, is having a boxing match with his bell right now. He seems to enjoy it though. It is a toy with a yellow rubber ducky, some fringe and a bell on it. One of his faves.

Margerrette(B&G) has a pipe bell that she beats the day lights out of. Sometimes I worry she will knock herself out with it, but she loves it so much I don't want to take it away from her.

Actually giving them the freedom to act out aggression on toys is completely natural and normal. If they cant act it out on something they will act it out on YOU.

I had a lovebird that loved to bash her bell. It was SS so you could she a fuzzy reflection off of it. I thought she may have thought it was another lovebird invading her territory. I guess that she was just taking out her aggression!

My lovie throws temper tantrums with her toys. It's only the noisy ones, lol.

Not as much fun to throw the quiet ones across the cage in a fit of rage. She's really good at picking them up and hurling them against the walls of the cage.
