Talking recommended check up

I am new to this group and am owned by a very sweet 17 year old b/g macaw named Cosmo that we rescued. He is wonderful and we adore him. We've decided to add 2 more birds to our family-an Amazon and an African grey which have been together for 14 years. They are healthy birds and I was wondering if I should take them to the vet to get checked-bloodwork, fecals, etc.. Any info would be great! Thanks in advance.

I always take my new birds to the vet as soon as I get them just to be sure everything is ok. Plus, it's good for your vet to have the "normals" for your birds for future reference should one ever get ill.

yes, any new birds being brought in should have a check up....and like the other poster said, a baseline for the future.
