They will adjust to how busy you are, especially if you get him/her as a baby.
and if you are worried about him feeling neglected you can always set timers on your radio or the tv to give him some entertainment for a little while. |

I work 8 hours a day and I am worried about the time my little ones get but I am all theirs when I am home and I make sure they get enough love and attention and get to be social. I think just like humans, birds need alone time too, so when Im at work, that is their free time!!

Some would say I attend a place of emolyment but don't work..but don't believe them. I work four hours a day five days a week. When I prepare Dusty's cage in the morning I try to put something interesting in there to keep her occupied while I'm away. A small paper bag of air popped popcorn, some bits of native shrub (edible) from the garden, a piece of paperback (to shred), paperbark, grass with seedheads...It seems to work. I also say "Bye now..will be back before Ellen(we watch Ellen while I have lunch on my return), so she knows about when I'll be back. If I have to be away I tell her" its a big day today won't be home till late." So far in nine years she's been OK.
