Need a good seed mix

Just wondering what brand of seed mixes you guys would recommend for my cag. I am in the process of weaning her right now onto pellets, but I would like to get her introduced to seed. Also, do you all mix a little seed in with the pellet, or just give it separately (wondering if that would make them just pick all the seed out and refuse to eat the pellet). Also, do you feed seeds every day, or just a few times a week?

I mix seed in a few times a week with the pellets. I use a "trail mix" style seed with dries fruit pieces in it as well as nuts & seed. My TAG gets fresh veggies & some meat/proteins every day as his main diet!!!

I like Sleek and Sassy. Don't waste your money on the "enriched" or "fortified" mixes. They just add the vitamins to the outside of the shell, which the bird doesn't eat. Also, read the ingredient list. Just like with pellets, don't buy it if it has ethoxyquin. (If you aren't familiar with this, it is a byproduct of making formaldyhide and is poisonous to humans. So why do pet food makers use it as a preservative?) Even some of the big names use it.

I feed seed instead of pellets about once, sometimes twice a week. But they still get their veggies every day.

I use Higgins, Safflower Gold Mix, and take out the peanuts. My guys dont get peanuts.
I have used this product for many years, and have been happy....so are my 3 greys.....
The seed only makes up about 25% of thier "offered" diet.

Kaylor Of Colorado Sweet Harvest mix, no sunflower seed. It has 4 different kinds of nuts, dried banans, peas, apples, carrots, and loads of other stuff.
I like it, and my fids LOVE it.
