Need Moving advice

I'm going to be moving in two weeks to a biger place. My concern is how is this going to affect my two CAGs. I would like to know if anyone have some suggestions on what to do and what to avoid. During the transition, should I take the birds first or leave them at the end? Both of them are very sensitive, start shacking with unfamiliar things, people surrounding etc. I would really appreciate if anyone have good suggestions to make this transition easier on my babies.

You might want to try taking them over to the new place and showing them around while you do some unpacking, but don't leave them there. Just tell them where they will be moving to, that they are coming as well, show them around the new place, tell them that they don't need to worry as they will have their cages and toys there, as well as yourself. Then, don't move them and their cages until you yourself have about everything moved in that you need, so that you'll only have to make a couple trips back to the old place and wont be there for long.

I left my fids till the end, so they could see we kept coming back ( we didnt do it all in one trip) and then when we moved them over to the new house, all of their stuff was already over their and setup, so they had stuff that was recognizable to them. I think that made it a little easier on them

Birds are very resilient. Just be sure to have everything ready on the receiving end, including their favorite foods and they'll likely just be interested and curious. I would, however, suggest that you provide some soothing ginger tea the day of the move. Many birds get carsick (especially BG macaws for some reason). You simply slice off a quarter sized chunk of the root, peel it and boil it in about 2 or 3 cups of water. Let it cool, remove the ginger and replace your bird's water on the day of the move. It will settle their tummies, much like ginger ale does with humans.

Thank you guys! Yes, I think it would be best for everything to be there (their stuff) once I take them. Fortunatelly for me, the place is withing walking distance (not even a block away). So we won't be needing any transportation.
