Grey w/ one white toenail

Has anyone ever saw a Congo African Grey with a normal looking white toenail?

Probably not.. However, Iris has one white toenail. My vet and his breeder stated that this is nothing to be concerned about. It's nothing different about it besides it's color. I am not too concerned about it, I just thought that I'd share his abnormal colored toenail story.

I had Iris out with me on day and this lady that apparently knew a lot about birds said to me "He sure is a cutie! OMG--he has a white toenail! I've never saw that before." It's like she noticed it immediately.
I later found that the lady works at Petco. Now everytime I see her she always ask about Iris.

I guess she'll never forget the CAG with the white toenail. LOL
If interested or curious, I'll have to take a picture and post it.

Not only greys, but there have been hyacinths and B&G's with white toes.. it MIGHT be a trait of a pied mutation, but then again it might be nothing at all.

Cool... And there I was thinking that Iris was just weired out. LOL

Lisa, I went to that thread you linked and LOL because the original poster had a link that said..."My little white toe". I thought that was too cute!

I saw a Timneh with a white toe at the breeders where we are getting our Red Fronted Macaw a couple of weeks ago, when I asked about it, she said it was fairly common, and over the years she has had several babies with white toes from different parents.

I see them often. Sometimes they have more than 1. Also with macaws.

Sparky has a pinkinsh white toenail. Funny thing is the last year or so he has actually grown a 'normal' colored stripe down the side of it.

That's cool! It's not as uncommon as I believed.
