Smile Baby Sydney home at last!

Well, I brought my baby Sydney home yesterday.

He's doing so well. It was a 90 minute drive, and he was in a cat carrier. When I got home, I just opened the carrier and let him watch from inside. I figured he'd come out when he was ready. I ate a sandwich, and gave him a piece of crust, which he took.

After I ate, I asked him to step up and he did. I had already put his toys from the breeder's cage in our cage, so it was set up just like he was used to.

My 11 year old rottie just looked and then went to lay down. My 8 month old Great Dane puppy was very interested, and we've had to control him, of course, but Sydney is not the least bit afraid of him. That surprised me a lot.

It's so cute at night...I have him on a towel on the couch with some hand toys, and both nights he's buried himself in the towel and just wants to be held. He stayed there for about 30 minutes tonight, and then I put him to bed in his cage.

I also got a king sized sheet to cover his cage, and have a night light for him.

What a cutie! Tomorrow I'll post some new pictures. Thanks for all your advice!

i'm glad all is going well. Enjoy the snuggling. Keep it up and you will have a snuggler for life. My baby boy is going to be 5 and still loves to snuggle each night.

How adorable! You know the breeder did a good job because your baby is adjusting so well to his new home!

We've ended our third day with Sydney. He's doing so well. He seems very comfortable with us and the dogs. I'm trying to be careful to not spoil him or do anything I can't continue.

When I got home from work, he started this noise. It's a cross between a squalk and a chirp. Almost sounds like a really loud hiccup. I asked my fiance, Jere, if he did that when he got home before me and he didn't.

I got him out of the cage, put him on the playgym in the kitchen, and gave him his dinner. He ate so well! We cooked dinner, ate, and did dishes, and Sydney stayed on the playgym and ate and preened.

Then I fed him his cream of wheat. My breeder has me feeding him some cr. of wheat with baby fruit in it with a spoon. She said it would help him bond to me.

Then I held him in my lap, cuddled in a towel for about a half an hour. Then at 9:00 I put him in the cage, and he started that squalking/chirping (for attention, I presume). He does it about every 3-5 minutes. After about 15 minutes, I covered the cage, and he played and moved about the inside for awhile, still making that noise, but now about every 10 min. (We were in the living room with him watching TV).

So, what do you think this means?
