I can't help out with the rest, but the move won't bother your bird too much...just provide comfort food and a lot of affection shortly after the move until they get acclamated.

Re: Joel? Can you give me some advice please?
Gotta run in a minute Katisoo,
First of all, I'm no expert but thanks anyway for trying to give me a compliment. I personally voted for and would get a Congo if I were you although from everything I have read in the past, the consensus is that they are equal in all categories except for looks & size. There will always be exceptions to every rule I assume. I have many Congos and a breeding pair of Timnehs. The male Timneh was somewhat of a pet at first but seems happier in his breeding flight with his girlfriend, outside in a large flight. I have had other semi-tame Timnehs in the past too. Never kept a baby or had a super tame one myself though. Congos are much prettier of course IMO and all my females love me to death but the males have somewhat of an attitude towards me. One male has recently warmed up to me, much more than before but all in all I would say get a female, especially if the human is a male. Now there are people who will say that male Greys are tamer to female humans and vice versa. I can't tell ya for sure about that as I am a guy. Maybe the others on here can lend some insight on that. So what did your vet say as his opinion? I agree with LWA on the moving part of your question. My best talker is a female btw and second best a male although I do give her more time, maybe he would be as good if I had the time to give him also.. The males seem a little less skittish as far as my flock goes. point. Quote:
